Oranje Loper Amsterdam

Temporary bridge for De Oranje Loper in Amsterdam

For the prestigious De Oranje Loper project in Amsterdam, we supplied and installed a temporary auxiliary bridge at the Jordaan Bridge (bridge 117) over the Lijnbaansgracht canal.

This project involves a large-scale redesign of the city route between Central Station and Mercatorplein in Amsterdam-West. The municipality aims to make this busy route safer, greener, and more attractive for pedestrians, cyclists, and public transport, while reducing car traffic. Work began in 2020 and is expected to be completed in 2029.

Our contribution
A key part of the project is the renovation of seven of the nine bridges along the route. Because the Jordaan Bridge was in poor condition, it was decided to completely replace it. To ensure accessibility for emergency services and local traffic during the work, we installed a temporary auxiliary bridge at this location. The chosen solution consists of three partial spans of 13.5 meters, 15.7 meters, and another 13.5 meters. The bridge is 3.6 meters wide, making it suitable for motorized traffic.

This temporary measure ensures safe and efficient traffic flow during the renovation period.
At this characteristic location in the Jordaan district, our bridge will provide a reliable connection for the surrounding area in the coming months.
